The
Alumni Service to Humanity Award was created by The Georgia Rotary
Student Program (GRSP) Trustees to honor outstanding alumni who have
contributed to greater global understanding and peace through
service to humanity, and whose significant achievements have either
enriched their profession or vocation. One award may be given
annually to a qualified and deserving GRSP alumni who has made

Each
January, Rotary District 6900 and the Dunwoody and Decatur Rotary
Clubs sponsor a weekend for GRSP students, encouraging them to
pursue Rotary’s ideal of "Service above Self." Students form a
chapter of an ERotaract Club, Nations Working Together, and develop
plans for a project they can execute upon returning to their
homes. This project is a significant part of their class legacy. The
Class of 2005-06 decided to dedicate their efforts to working with a
school in Medellin, Columbia, to help feed more than 2000 students,
many of whom have nothing to eat during the school day. Without
proper nutrition, these children do not develop properly and many
faint in class because they have not eaten for a day or two.

Endowment
FundAs a result of the continued generosity of Georgia Rotarians, the corpus of the GRSP Endowment Fund has reached $7 million and climbing! By increasing the corpus of the Endowment, it allows the program to have a strong financial base and keep down the cost of sponsoring a student. Each year the earnings from the Endowment are used in the operation of the program. Our budget for GRSP this year is approximately $1 million, and the Endowment earnings will provide about a third of that cost. Our long term goal is to continue to build the Endowment Fund so that it will provide substantial support to the program for years to come. The GRSP Endowment Fund is grateful to all who have contributed to it over the years. Our dream is that every Georgia Rotarian will become a “Sustaining Member” to the Endowment by contributing $100/year. (Posted Sept. 2007) Learn more... |

Atlanta
Student WeekendGRSP students enjoyed a weekend of fun in Atlanta Nov. 2-4, compliments of the Alpharetta and Sandy Springs Rotary Clubs. They visited Zoo Atlanta, New World of Coca Cola, and Andretti's Karting & Games. They also learned to answer quickly when asked, "What'll ya have?" at The Varsity.
