Trustee Emeritus

A Rotarian since 1956, he is a past president of the
Rotary Club of Americus, past district governor of District 6900, and a
trustee emeritus of the Georgia Rotary Student Program (GRSP).
He actively served the Georgia Rotary Student Program for more than 40
years as a trustee and a director of the program.
He also served as a GRSP host family.
Rotarian Sheffield was district governor during Rotary year 1975-1976 –
“Dignify the Human Being.”
Langdon has a distinction unique in all of
Rotary – he is the third successive family member to be a district
governor – his grandfather and father were both district governors from
the Rotary Club of Americus.
His family has been honored by the club and
the district by creation of the Sheffield Leadership Award given each
year by the Rotary district to those club presidents who exemplify the
family’s leadership ability.
Langdon was born and raised in
Americus,
Georgia.
He is a graduate of the Virginia Military
Institute.
For many years he was president and owner of
Americus Hardware, Inc. He served his community in many capacities -
including president of the Americus Chamber of Commerce and president of
the United Way.
Lang and his wife Kathy are enjoying retirement and their grandchildren
in
Americus.
